🛠️ My 7-Day Plan to Build an Affiliate Marketing System from Scratch
👋 Why I Created This Plan
When I first heard about affiliate marketing, it sounded exciting—but also overwhelming.
There were too many tools, strategies, and “gurus” preaching overnight success. I didn’t want hype—I wanted a system I could build, understand, and improve.
So I created a 7-day action plan that helped me go from zero followers and zero knowledge to having a basic (but real!) affiliate setup.
I’m sharing it here for anyone who wants to follow a simple, focused path.
🗓️ DAY 1: Choose a Niche + Platform
👉 Goal: Know what you’ll talk about, and where you'll talk about it.
What I Did:
-
Chose a niche I care about: Creative freelancers & productivity tools
-
Picked platforms that fit my skills:
-
Medium (for long-form blogs)
-
YouTube Shorts (for quick tips)
-
Pinterest (for free visual traffic)
-
💡 Tip: Choose a niche you’re curious to learn about, not just one that “makes money.”
🗓️ DAY 2: Sign Up for Affiliate Programs
👉 Goal: Get links that you can legally promote.
What I Did:
-
Applied for WarriorPlus and Digistore24
-
Created a Google Sheet to track:
-
Product name
-
Link
-
Commission rate
-
Content ideas for each
-
💡 Tip: Only promote products you’d actually use or recommend to a friend.
🗓️ DAY 3: Build a Link Hub
👉 Goal: Make it easy for people to find all your affiliate links.
What I Did:
-
Created a free Carrd.co landing page with:
-
My intro
-
Buttons to key affiliate products
-
My Medium and YouTube links
-
You can also use Linktree or a simple Notion page!
💡 Tip: Keep it clean, short, and mobile-friendly.
🗓️ DAY 4: Write One SEO Blog (Medium)
👉 Goal: Start building searchable content.
What I Did:
-
Wrote a blog:
“Top 3 Tools That Helped Me Start Affiliate Marketing as a Creative” -
Included real screenshots, my personal review, and affiliate links
💡 Tip: Use keywords like “best tools for freelancers” or “affiliate marketing for beginners.”
🗓️ DAY 5: Make 2 Short Videos
👉 Goal: Build trust and reach with short-form content.
What I Did:
-
Made two 30-second videos:
-
“Why I Started Affiliate Marketing as a Designer”
-
“One Tool That Changed My Workflow (and Earned Me Commissions)”
-
Posted to YouTube Shorts and Pinterest Video Pins
💡 Tip: Use your phone. Speak naturally. Add text overlays if possible.
🗓️ DAY 6: Create a Simple Funnel
👉 Goal: Start collecting emails (optional but powerful).
What I Did:
-
Created a free ConvertKit account
-
Made a landing page:
-
Headline: “Free Toolkit: My Favorite Affiliate Marketing Tools”
-
Email signup = get a PDF + weekly updates
-
💡 Tip: You don’t need a full email strategy yet—just start with one value offer.
🗓️ DAY 7: Review, Reflect & Plan Ahead
👉 Goal: Improve based on real action.
What I Did:
-
Looked at:
-
Blog views
-
Video clicks
-
Link clicks
-
-
Asked myself:
-
What felt easy? What felt hard?
-
What do I enjoy creating?
-
What do I need to learn next?
-
I made a content calendar for the next 2 weeks.
Slow and steady > burnout.
💬 Final Thoughts
This plan didn’t make me rich in 7 days—but it gave me momentum.
I now have:
-
Affiliate links that are ready to earn
-
A system to create and share content
-
A path I can repeat and refine
If you’re new, I hope this helps you feel less stuck and more excited to start.
And if you’re further along—I'd love your feedback!
Let’s build something real. One day at a time. 💼✨
